Liam Neeson starred in the movie Taken a couple years ago. His daughter went to Paris and ended up getting kidnapped and put into the sex trade. What did Daddy do? He kicked butt to get his daughter back. The “Taken guy” went after his daughter with a vengeance. He was going to get back what was his. Someone took something of value to him and he was not going to be stopped.
God was the Taken guy before Liam Neeson.
God’s people were in trouble and God went after what was His with a vengeance. And He doesn’t stop there. God wants you. God is pursuing you. God is coming to save you with a vengeance. God loves you that much. Whatever you are going through. Whether you are a Christian or not. God is pursuing you. He sent Jesus to be whatever you need. That is the beauty of the Gospel.
He is your provision when you don’t see a way to pay for college. He is your comfort when your friends and family are far away. He is peace and joy in the middle of crisis. He is your savior when you are far from God. Jesus is the answer to whatever it is that you are facing, and he is kicking butt with a vengeance in order to get to you.
